The final design of this residence was a compromise of ideas from both husband and wife – one leaning toward Early American and the other French Country. We were able to take characteristics from both design styles to develop plans for this custom built home.

Siding color, cultured stone and the use of wood tones at doors, porch, and roof locations were all carefully decided upon to deliver a look that would exceed the owners’ expectations.

The interior incorporates a variety of woods. Silver maple, cherry, quarter sawn oak and rustic pine were all used to deliver the unique atmosphere the owners envisioned, yet keeping the flow of the overall house in harmony.

The home consists of six bedrooms in addition to a large master suite retreat area, a seven stall garage, exercise room, home theatre, expansive kitchen and a cathedralled great room that stretches to 29’ at the peak.

This architecturally designed home required the rough framing to be as precise as the interior trim that it would support. The home was built on the only remaining lot in an older neighborhood. As stated by Laura miller, one of the architects for the project—“The plan is organized around a central light core and it’s “L” shaped stair, culminating in a clerestory at the third level, bringing light through to the first floor stair hall.”

Working with the owners, we designed and built this home on an older, well established boulevard. The design of the home fits the neighborhood and the sunburst above the large window adds uniqueness to the garage area. The detached garage on the site is used for the homeowner’s woodworking shop and includes a second story storage area.

Traditional exterior design conceals the contemporary interior of cherry cabinets, granite counters, wood floors and a curved staircase. One of the bedrooms features a concealed ‘hideout space’ for the owners children and their friends. Access to the space is gained through a pivoting bookcase. The library is finished in cherry with natural light provided by a large circle-head window with west exposure.

Built on a multiple acre site, this traditional 2 story home has high ceilings, crown moldings throughout and heart pine flooring. We custom designed the fireplace surround and the built in cabinet for the dining room. A media room is located above the garage. There’s also a two story library located off the main upper and lower level halls.

This is a Williamsburg style home with brick exterior and large windows off the rear of the home. The home has an open design with the living room ceilings extending to the second floor, an open staircase at one end and a wall of windows at the opposite end. The lower level is finished as a family room.
